CIUD Meets With UAE Federal Authority for Government Human Resources

Dubai, February 26, 2015: Ma Xu Liang, Chinese Deputy Consul General of Consulate General of P.R.C in Dubai visited with CIUD delegation the HR Planning Department of Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, to discuss cooperation issues.

Miss Amna Humud Al Suwaidi, Director HR Planning Department, warmly welcomed Ma Xuliang and CIUD delegation. She expressed real hope in practical cooperation of both sides in HR personnel training for Chinese language program.

Ms. Al Suwaidi stated that her department is responsible for all UAE government official human resource training. The department organizes the post academy education for officials and maintains good relations with major UAE colleges and universities. Following the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the University of Dubai, Ms. Al Suwaidi hoped to set up training program in basic Chinese by collaborating with Confucius Institute for depth cooperation.

Ma Xuliang said P.R.C and UAE have a very firm bilateral relationship and China has a long history of education in Arabic. There are currently more than 30 domestic universities offering professional Arabic courses, and a large number of students majoring in Arabic graduate each year. He added “with the increasing number of Chinese in UAE and bilateral deepened cooperation in various fields, the UAE government needs of department staff training in Chinese language and culture is growing. Since Confucius Institute in Gulf Countries offers Chinese courses and maintains a good working relationship in training Dubai government officials with professional resources, therefore, it will be much easier to reach a consensus of the cooperation for FAHR and CIUD in the very future”.

Subsequently, Mr. Ma Jun, Director of Confucius Institute talked about the global status and development trend of Confucius Institutes, the characteristics and advantages of CIUD, as well as the daily operations. He said that course and program offered by CI can be customized to meet the requirements of government departments with very effective and competitive Chinese training services. During the meeting, the two sides also discussed in detail the specific content of the proposal in training.

Ms. Maryam Mohamed Alabbar, Executive Director-HR Planning and Projects, Ms. Meead Ali Yosif Abdulla, Section Head of Training Policies and Continuing Learning and the CI Chinese teacher Zhang Jichao were present at the meeting.
