Invited by Dubai Police, UD President Dr. Easa Bastaki accompanied by CIUD Director Ma Jun and Teacher Zhang Jichao participated in the 5th Dubai Police Annual Conference for Suppliers, Contractors & Service Providers at 7:00PM on Mar. 26th 2014. The conference held in Baraha Hall at Intercontinental Festival City with over 100 UAE local departments and more than 400 guests’ attendance aims at expressing thanks to suppliers, contractors & service providers and discussing cooperation strategies, enlarging cooperation scale and optimizing cooperation model.
CIUD as one of the cooperation partners with Dubai Police Academy was invited to participate in this conference. Since CIUD was established in 2011 jointly by University of Dubai in UAE and Ningxia University (one of the 100 major universities) in China, CIUD has successively undertaken Chinese language training to some government departments, such as Department of Economic Development in Dubai, Dubai Police Academy, Dubai Customs, and Dubai International Airport and also held some cultural activities, which plays an important role in meeting the Chinese language learning requirements in GCC and promoting China Arab cultural exchanges. The Chinese language training program in Dubai Police Academy is the first official program in Dubai government system. Till now, CIUD has offered over 10 classes in Dubai Police Academy and trained over 120 police trainees, which is highly appreciated by UAE Government and relating management authorities.
During the conference, Major General Mohammad Saeed Bakhit, Director of the General Department of Services and Facilities made a speech to express his thanks to the presence of the cooperation departments and appreciate their hard working in the process of cooperation with Dubai Police. Later, he had an open discussion with each head of cooperation departments.
CIUD makes a long term commitment to developing Chinese culture and promoting Chinese language by emphasizing on Chinese language teaching and cultural activities as well as expanding projects, which effectively promotes Chinese culture in Dubai and UAE. CIUD will continuously insist on steady and creative development concept and turn to be a Non-governmental Ambassador and a cultural bridge between China-Arab education and cultural communication. Just as China President Xi Jinping pointed,” we need keep confidence, endurance and composure in our culture during Sino foreign cultural communication. Chinese proverbs go like this, ‘Peaches and plums do not have to talk, but the world beats a path to them. Great sound is hard to hear and great form has no shape. Constant dripping wears away a stone’. As long as we strengthen communication in a persistent way, we will eventually dispel the bias and misunderstanding.” When he visited Germany and had a symposium with Confucius Institutes in Germany.
CIUD will continuously strengthen and keep the cooperation with UAE government departments. At present, National Electrical Security Agency UAE is negotiating with CIUD about Chinese language training program.
